Trending: Fringe Detail
Sunday, June 27th, 2010
Season after season, bohemian influence runs rampant through the fashion world. The hippie-inspired style gives birth to must-have trends almost as many times as Kate Moss and Nicole Richie step out their front door. In the ever-evolving world of boho chic, fringe details are having their moment. The decorative trimming lends attitude and interest to otherwise simple shapes, be it classic or of-the-moment. Though it might be a fleeting fashion sensation, it doesn’t hinder our desire for fringe-laden garments and accessories.
Spring/Summer 2010 opened the door to a bevy of pieces covered in fringe, like vests, bags, shoes, and jewelry. Basically, anything and everything. Any such item is guaranteed to draw attention, so use fringe sparingly for a look that’s current, fresh and distinctly bohemian. Here’s some of our favorites to date:

Shoes for Haiti
Monday, January 25th, 2010
Loeffler Randall’s “Clementine Serpentine” sandal in Black and Loeffler Randall’s “Shae” wedge
Since the horrific earthquake in Haiti, our inbox has been flooded with fashionable sales and promotions, all promising to donate money via our shopping. One promotion that caught our eye is happening this week at Fix Boutique (1101 W Fulton Market). Not only is Fix announcing that it will now carry men’s and women’s designer shoes—including Cynthia Vincent, American Retro and Loeffler Randall—it will also be collecting shoes for Haiti. In return for your gently used kicks, you will receive 20% off any shoe purchase, from today until Monday, February 1. In addition to the discount, Fix Boutique will give everyone who comes in the store this week the chance to win a new pair of shoes!
The donated shoes will be given to Soles4Souls, a global charity that provides aid to those suffering and in need. Determined to help the organization donate more than one million pairs of shoes to Haiti, Fix Boutique is doing its part to help survivors rebuild their lives—one step at a time.
